What is Left of Bang Cyber?
Left of Bang Cyber is based off the concept of staying “Left of Bang” involves strategies and actions taken to identify and neutralize threats before they can cause harm. This concept has been widely adopted in fields like law enforcement, cybersecurity, and risk management, where the focus is on prevention and preemptive action rather than reactive responses after an incident has occurred.
In Cyber Security, this is what we are constantly working towards. By creating RMF’s, planning for cyber incident responses, and also mitigating them. By using the programs and tools we have, our goal is to stay Left of Bang, preparing to be on the inevitable right side of it one day.
Who Am I?
In 2013 I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where I served seven years meeting the needs of the Marine Corps. I worked at the ground level, later running operations centers at the Combatant Command Level. After this experience, I transitioned into Law Enforcement and eventually secured a full-time position in IT and Cyber Security. The concept of ‘Left of Bang’ has stayed with me since my time in the Corps
What is My Goal?
My goal with Left of Bang Cyber is to enable new and seasoned IT and Cyber Security individuals. My motivation comes from wanting to stop the threat before it happens, but to also be prepared for when it does. My cyber journey took off in my own home. Learning different tricks of the trade, and implementing tools to train with on my home machine. In my posts, I provide tutorials on things that I have done myself, as well as the things not to do. Eventually, I plan on creating videos for you so stay tuned! This for you, the reader, to learn and follow my journey in the Cyber industry.
